Rev. Fred L. Richmond Sr

Rev. Fred L. Richmond Sr. is a native of Arkansas and is the fifth of thirteen children born to John H. Sr. & Essie Richmond. He is married to Barbara J. (Briggs) Richmond and to that union is five children. Pastor Richmond adopted their great-grandson, Dejarrion T. Richmond when he was 3 years old.

Rev. Richmond Sr., has been preaching the gospel since March 1975. He is the founder and pastor of New Omega Baptist Church that was organized on August 19, 1979. The mission began with 7 members and has over 350 members. Under Rev. Richmond’s visionary leadership, New Omega purchased a new edifice in 1999 that is located at, 5731 Northwestern Ave. Racine WI.

In 1965, Rev. Richmond graduated from Carver High School. He entered the United States Marine Corps, released as an E-4 with an honorable discharge. Rev. Richmond earned his Associate degree in theological studies from Milwaukee Theological Institute (graduating cum laude); He received his Bachelor’s in Christian Counseling from Christian Bible College and Seminary Independence MO. He has advanced his studies at Interdenominational Theological Seminary in Church Administration.

Rev. Richmond Sr. has served as Treasurer, Vice President, and President of the Racine/ Kenosha Ministers Alliance, served as Moderator of Southeastern WI Baptist Pastors Fellowship and is a life-long member of NAACP. Rev. Richmond Sr. has traveled extensively throughout the United States and Israel (the Holy Land).

As pastor of the New Omega Baptist Church for 40+ years Pastor Richmond, Sr. is committed to the cultivation of Christian growth within the congregation, preaching the acceptable year of the Lord to the unsaved, while providing support to the community efforts that strive to make available programs and services that enhance the quality of life for people living in Racine and other areas.
